The PPGL teaching staff presents an international level of excellence. In 2024, the Program maintained eight Productivity Scholarship Holders from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development of Brazil, four in category 1D and four in level 2. There are currently 31 permanent professors in the Program and in the 2021-2024 four-year period, 23 are involved in some internationalization action. There are 06 collaborators and 04 of them are also involved in this type of activity.
PPGL professors have been consolidating their research groups, all with the participation of undergraduate and graduate students, graduates, and external professors. Currently, 28 research groups with leaders and vice-leaders composed of Program professors are registered in the Research Directory of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development of Brazil. They certainly contribute significantly to the data in the Area of Linguistics and Literature in the northern region. These groups aim at strategies that favor relations between Program researchers and other national and international researchers. Extension projects and actions have increased significantly in relation to the previous four-year period. In the Linguistic Studies Area of Concentration, faculty members carried out 12 extension projects with internal and external funding from UFPA, and in the Literary Studies Area of Concentration, there were 7 projects. These indicators reveal a faculty profile concerned with interacting with society and taking research results beyond the university walls. Likewise, the concern with scientific dissemination has also intensified among PPGL faculty members, and today, more than half of the research groups maintain their own websites and social networks, in addition to the Program's networks.
The PPGL teaching staff have the qualities necessary for a consolidated Program. The student degree rate, as well as the considerable demand for student admission selections, reflect the faculty's commitment to training masters and doctorates.
