Basic education
Projects such as PET Letras / Portuguese Language and PIBID contain numerous activities that have as their main objective the improvement of Basic Education. PET, for example, offered, in 2013, a series of workshops on different topics in the area of Languages and Linguistics in elementary schools of the municipal and state networks, including: “Prejudice no: workshop on linguistic diversity in the Amazon! ”; “LIBRAS”; “Phonetics and Phonology”; and "Literary Theory."
As a PET activity, a reading and textual production course is offered annually by undergraduate language students to high school students at the Raimundo Reis Popular Education Center, located in a socially vulnerable popular neighborhood of Greater Belém. The students who teach the course are linked to PPGL’s faculty research projects.
In addition to these, PET offered, in 2013, the workshop “Digital Inclusion for Indigenous Students”, which was taught by two master's students.
As activities related to PIBID are also listed workshops in the field of Literary Studies, which are taught by undergraduate students to high school students, in public schools, every two months, throughout the year. This group also includes advisors linked to PPGL.
