Contribution to the Northern Region
The contribution of PPGL-UFPA to professor / researcher training in the Northern Region is effective. The masters graduated by PPGL-UFPA are acting in all twelve campuses of UFPA (in the cities of Abaetetuba, Altamira, Belem, Bragança, Breves, Castanhal, Cametá, Soure, Marabá, Tucuruí, Santarém, Tomé-Açu). Application School of UFPA (NPI), Pará State University (UEPA), Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA, Santarém), Pará Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology (IFPA), UNIESP, UFOPA, UNIFAP, and other private educational institutions such as UNAMA, ESAMAZ, FEAPA, FIBRA. There are also graduates from Amapá, Tocantins, Amazonas. A significant portion of students, as they come mainly from undergraduate courses, are linked to state or municipal Education Offices.
About 48% of the graduates have passed the doctoral program selection and 90% of the graduates are employed in educational and research institutions in the State of Pará and in private institutions. The performance of graduating students in federal and state educational institutions reinforces the contribution of PPGL-UFPA to the development of teaching and scientific research in the area of Languages and Linguistics of the Amazon Region. With the implementation of the Doctorate in Languages, as well as the Professional Master (PROFLETRAS), it aims to contribute effectively to the formation of specific research groups in the various higher education institutions in the state.
