The special issue "Research with indigenous societies today" aims to bring together different visions and studies that have been conducted with the indigenous communities of Brazil. The papers submitted may cover linguistic research or related areas, such as education, sociology, anthropology, and history, that use collaborative or co-production methods and contribute to the more equal relations in research. In addition, the knowledge and acknowledgement of Brazilian cultural and linguistic diversity and the impact of research in the dominant society can be addressed. Studies focusing on indigenous societies facing linguistic and sociocultural challenges and transformations which, in many cases, takes a form of alterations and resistance, instead of loss and decline, will also be welcome.
